It has 600 RF/t worth of stabilizing power pointed at it, four cost stones underneath, and the ceiling above is practically made of vis batteries. It may not look as fancy as some others - I'm not a good builder. There is really just one guiding principle, and that's "radial symmetry". If necessary, reform the whole structure. Try breaking and replacing all the pedestals. This may include Thaumcraft only thinking something is wrong, even if you did it correctly. Now, if you have the required power throughput, and perhaps even the cost stones, and the infusion still drops into "dangerously unstable" right at the beginning? Then either the recipe or the altar setup is wrong. The thing you really want to avoid is "dangerously unstable", because that's when you and your infusion are really in danger. But that's fine, since "unstable" doesn't do anything worse than the occasional item falling off a pedestal. Also, this doesn't necessarily guarantee full stability - you might still end up in "unstable" conditions. Some of the easiest in a category can make do with less, while some of most difficult recipes in each category might require you to additionally install four Infusion Cost Stones under the altar to slow down the infusion (and therefoe the rate of instability increase). There can be big differences even within a category, so your mileage may vary. (This assumes you also have twelve passive stabilizers - candles or skulls - arranged symmetrically around the altar.) This means the maximum power a single stabilizer can push with Thaumcraft alone is 100 RF/t.Īs a rough guideline, if you are in Beta23 or later, your infusions should go through if you offer around: Thaumcraft itself has no RF cables, and only simple generators outputting 20 RF/t. However, you can only achieve that with third party power delivery. The amount of stabilizers is less important than the amount of power you put into them.Įach stabilizer accepts 100 RF/t on each of its five connections, and will use whatever power it can get - so up to 500 RF/t.
